This particular creation was built from the first piece of birdseye Redwood I've been able to find. Very rare indeed. The owner decided to go with a wavy Walnut lid insert, in addition to the lighter hygrometer surround. This model also features a wood escutcheon around the keyhole(another interesting touch), as shown on the main page.
Redwood isn't available in Italy. The man knows that, just as he knows something unique and beautiful when he sees it.
Then again, many Italians have demonstatably good taste!
