The California Redwood...

Some of these trees were around before Christ. Over two-thousand years old. Scarcer that Ebony, Teak, Koa... practically any exotic you mention these days.

I build humidors from those exotic woods as well, but I keep coming back to my favorite one... Redwood.

In case you're not aware...

... the Redwood is an environmentally-threatened species, protected in California. This beautiful wood is still available, but supplies are dwindling, especially the burls and the better pieces of the heart. By "heart", I mean the darker, inner wood of the older trees. The colors are every hue of red under the sun, and the grains vary more than any wood I've ever seen.

My Upright Humidor...

The term "state-of-the-art" could be used because of the features built into these humidor -- such as:

How Many Sizes??

I do custom work, remember? I can build any size or shape humidor. Standard sizes, however, are six, eight, and twelve-inch diameter cylinders. The six inch holds approximately one and one-half to two boxes of cigars. The eight inch holds approximately three boxes. And the twelve inch holds four or five boxes.

And the side wall??

The wall material is cast acrylic, which is used in the food and chemical industry. Lightweight, and stays clear forever. The top edge is polished. However, I've used stained glass, leaded crystal, and etched glass for custom work -- you tell me what you want. Also, let me know what height you want the inside to net out to. I'll make it so.

What about operating parts??

There's only a couple. A hygrometer manufactured in France is mounted in the lid. It connects via a patent-pending passageway into the interior of the unit. You never have to open the humidor to check the humidity inside. Generally, I'll provide a space for a Credoİ humidifier to be mounted into the lid. They work as well as any to maintain the interior at approximately 70-75% humidity.

Storage??

Not just a divider.

Need a place to stash your lighter and cutter? How about in the lid, via a hidden compartment? Pick up the lid in one fashion, the compartment is exposed. Pick up the lid another way, and the whole lid and divider assembly lifts up.

And the divider inside isn't just a divider. It's a liftout mechanism that retains humidified air in the humidor. It also lets you pull those short cigars to the top of the humidor, and within easy reach.
